Ridge Runners

About Us

Who are we?

Ridge Runners is a Webster, NY running club formed in 2013 by Webster cross country coaches passionate about distance running who wanted to offer runners the opportunity to learn the joy of running, compete in competitions, and offer opportunities to train year round. Our club includes runners as young as grade 3 and as old as grade 12.
Our club trains for a variety of reasons. We have athletes who are new to running, train for the joy of it, or simply to stay healthy. Some train with us to bridge the gap between middle school and high school seasons. Others train to compete in two USATF sanctioned competitions, one in XC and one in Track & Field. These meets are training goals of the Spring/Summer Track Session and Late Fall XC Sessions. Athletes who choose to go beyond the basic club training and compete go through the following process:

  • Compete in Niagara Association Championship (1st meet, qualifies for Region 2)
  • Compete in Region 2 Championships (2nd meet, involves all 4 associations)
  • Compete in National Championships

Winter Running

Tired of the winter blues? Not us! Not only do we continue to train through the winter, we like to throw in the occasional snow shoe practice as well. Snowshoeing not only gives us a great workout, it's a fun way to cross-train.
